What you need to know about MOTs:
Once a vehicle is over three years’ old, by law, it should have a yearly MOT to check it meets road safety and environmental standards.
It is important to remember that an MOT pass certificate only confirms that at the time of the inspection your vehicle met or exceeded the minimum legal standards as provided by VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency).
Having an MOT isn’t the same as having a service, as it doesn’t check your vehicles general mechanical condition.
Class 4 MOT covers the following vehicles:
Cars
3-Wheeled vehicles
Quads
Taxis
Minibuses and ambulances up to 12 passenger seats
Goods vehicles not exceeding 3000 kg DGW

Fuel system
Exhaust system & emissions
Seats & belts
